Levis Boots vs Timberland 6 Inch Boot Comparison

Timberland’s most popular boot style is their iconic 6-inch Premium Boot which has only grown in popularity since first introduced almost 40 years ago. These boots currently retail between $150-200 and has become the go to boot for casual and work wear alike.

Since Timberland's rise to popularity Levi has introduced a quality competitor with their Harrison Boot. Not only do both brands offer the classic Wheat Nubuck color option but when it comes to style the two boots look almost identical.

The most obvious difference between Levi and Timberland boots is the price. While Timberland Premium boots retail between $150-200 the Levi Harrison boots are currently 1/3 the price. Let’s dive deeper to discover if there are any major differences between the two brands.

Levi's vs Timberland: Quality, Materials and ConStruction

Because of the large price difference we expected to find obvious disparity between the two boots. But at closer inspection we were surprised to discover very little differences between the Levi’s Harrison and Timberland 6-inch Premium boot.

Construction: Both boots feature a seam-sealed construction that allows for waterproofing as well as overall sturdiness. Just like it’s more pricey brother, Levi’s Harrison boot is waterproof and can be worn in the rain or snow without fear of soaking feet.

Both Levi's and Timberland feature identical stitching and construction.

Materials: There is very little difference in materials used in both boots. Suede Nubuck is used on the uppers and a similar quality leather is used for the padded ankles. Inside you’ll find a padded leather footbed for both the Levi’s Harrison and Timberland Premium boot. One feature the Timberland Premium has over the Levi’s Harrison is it’s PrimaLoft insulation that helps with cold weather wear. Levi’s boots do not have this added insulation.

Quality: Both the Levis Harrison and Timberland 6-inch Premium Boot are similar enough in quality where one could not tell the difference between the two if not for the respective logos on the ankle. They really are that close in materials, stitching and construction despite the large price disparity between the two brands.

The Verdict

Let’s be honest here, it’s practically the same boot. The big differences to consider are mostly aesthetic. If you can’t live without those special edition colors or the Timberland logo then it’s best to go with the Timberland 6-inch Premium Boot. It’s a time tested boot and equally iconic. But if logos and special colors are not important to you then the cheaper Levis Harrison will be a lot easier on your wallet for a near identical style.
